Get Creative
Artist: William Newton
Wonder by Megan Gallagher
Wide-open, viewing the world
Open-mouthed, agog
Neotenous- forever young
Dreaming while wide awake
Energy and lightness
Radiate joy
Creativity can come from a variety of places; sometimes a word, image, memory or experience can spark a creative response. I talked about neoteny the other day, committing to engage in our sense of curiosity and wonder, and letting our creativity out to play is a great way to connect with this child-like wonder. Creativity also exercises our brain, encouraging new connections.
There's no such thing as being a creative person. We are born creators.
Here are some thing you might you get creative with today:
- art- sculpture, hand arts, painting, drawing, music, dance, song, acting
- a conversation
- writing- a letter, a poem, a story
- gardening
- building
- making a sandcastle
- making a meal
- decorating your living space
- how you arrange books in your book shelf
- design- a dress, a building, a garden
- arrange plants or flowers
- how you dress yourself- the colours you wear, your jewelry, how you do you hair
And I am sure you can think of more.
Have a superbly creative day :)
